Hello,
I have a new Catalyst poe switch, and I used the express setup feature.
However, I noticed it didn't give me an option to enter a telnet user name.
Is there a way I can setup a user name?

If you are talking about a Catalyst Express 500, there is no telnet access to those devices. GUI is the only option.

It's for the 3560G.
Should I be able to specific a login and a password through telnet.

There is no username used, to set password:
From priviledged exec type: config t
line vty 0 4
password yourpassword
login
Replace yourpassword with the password you want to use
