Hi,
I try to use the autoinstall feature of the catalyst IE3000 to push a IOS image when it's fresh.
The dhcp server is configured to send the tftp server address and image filename (with the option 125).
The switch download right the filename (the name is autoinstall_dhcp) from the tftp server but failed to extract it, after that he's try to get
a directory (ies-lanbasek9-mz.122-58.SE2/) on the tftp server :
*Mar 1 00:01:38.297: AUTOINSTALL: Vlan1 is assigned 10.1.22.10 got vend id vend spec. info ret: succeed
*Mar 1 00:01:48.305: AUTOINSTALL: Obtain tftp server name 10.1.22.225 resolved to 10.1.22.225
Loading autoinstall_dhcp from 10.1.22.225 (via Vlan1): !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
[OK - 18042880 bytes]
Could not buffer tarfile...using multiple downloads
examining image...
%Error opening tftp://10.1.22.225/ies-lanbasek9-mz.122-58.SE2/ (Timed out)
%Error opening flash:update/info (No such file or directory)
ERROR: Image is not a valid IOS image archive.
*Mar 1 00:04:25.415: AUTOINSTALL: Error (1) Image is not a valid IOS image archive or not existing
Any ideas ?
Many thanks for any help or tips

Hi,
In my view when doing autoinstall with image update for ie3000 you should have both the image (tar) file (ies-lanbasek9-mz.122-58.SE2.tar) and the text file pointing to image file (autoinstall_dhcp) at the tftp server. So your "autoinstall_dhcp" text file just need to correctly specify the path to the image file (including the directory) at the tftp server. Will you please check that.
Best regards,
Antonin

Hi Monique,
Make sure that you are using the tar image. Also try deleting "update" directory in flash if any before you begin the upgradation.
What are you using as tftp server? It looks like a tftp server problem.

Auto install and zero touch smart install are different features.Zero touch smart install doesn't work on IE,but i think auto install is supported.
