I'm having trouble understanding this VLAN Quiz question on YouTube.
If SW1 is set to VTP Transparent mode, wouldn't this mean that it does not broadcast its VLANs to the network? My understanding was that Transparent mode only forwarded information on its trunks but did not participate in broadcasting its domain.
Furthermore, I thought VTP Servers only transmitted information while Clients updated their databases with it.
Why then would SW 2,3 and 5 learn of VLAN 99 and not SW4?

I'm sorry, it seems I misread the question.
SW4 was in VTP Transparent mode, while SW1 was in VTP Server Mode.
This would mean that all other switches receive the new VLAN 99 broadcast except for SW4 which does not participate but forwards the frame.
Is this correct?

Hi
This question only emphasizes that VPN transparent mode does not install the vlan but advertise it. People tends to think that transparent mode does not send out information from VTP servers but they does. They just dont install but they advertise.

Hello, I'm still not understanding it.
Why would VLAN 99 be visible to VTP Servers when it was created by a VTP Transparent Switch?
According to Cisco:
Transparent—Allows you to relay all VTP protocol packets that it receives on a trunk port to all other trunk ports. When you create or modify a VLAN that is in VTP transparent mode, those VLAN changes affect only the local device. A VTP transparent network device does not advertise its VLAN configuration and does not synchronize its VLAN configuration based on received advertisements. You cannot configure VLANs 1002 to 1005 in VTP client/server mode because these VLANs are reserved for Token Ring.

If I watched the rigth part, the vlan 99 was created in a server switch which had a transparent switch in between.
Isnt it?
