Change MTU from 9198 to 1500

Dear, 

I have a switch WS-3850-48T, version 16.6.5 (IOS - CAT3K_CAA-UNIVERSALK9-M). It was seted with MTU 9198, but my orthers access switches are seted 1500 MTU. I want to know, if change reduce the switch 3850 from 9198 to 1500 will there impact in the local network? Do I need to restart switch? 

I have orther dought. Can I change the MTU just only of one interface?

You can change globally or specific interface (if you change interface level that only have small blip on the connected devices)

Thank you by answer. I had to found this documentation, but switch 3850 don't let to use command "ip mtu 1500". It can to use just global mode.

Correct. As BB also said, it is only global which means it applies to all interfaces. system mtu <xxxx>
