Hi guys,
I have pair of twinax cable between nexus 5ks.
However the distance is short and it seems the cable is attached to the qsfp 40gb. Is it possible to change the cable to 10 meters legnth or so?
Many thanks

Hi
Yes you can here is the doc that shows what lengths/types can be connected to those sfps with twinax ,depending on sfp type its either 10 or 20 max length

many thanks
the device we have is QSFP-H40G-CU1M which is 1 meter and looking at the page they do sell in 5 meters.
It looks like the cable is fixed to the qsfp so how would you pull it out and replace it with 5m ?

If its fixed opart of the twinax then the sfp is part it and was bought like that or came like that , you would have to buy a 5mtre the same with the sfps attached , or else buy both separate cable and sfp

many thanks that is a bit cheaky that you can't remove the cable and stuck with the module.
if cable dies then you have to but a whole new module and cable that is not cheap

Yes Cisco aint cheap but these twinax are a lot cheaper than running the fibre still if you have short distances
