I am considering putting a packet capture on a WAN router which is seeing occasional outages.  The flash has 164MB free.  I'm thinking of creating a 50MB circular buffer and letting the capture run continually until I see the outage happen again (the router never logs any issues at the times previous).

My expectation is no impact on users.

Is there documentation I can verify against?

What model router?

Constantly overwriting the flash is very hard on it - it can cause it to fail.  You don'y normally find out that it has failed until you reboot.
