Cisco 1000 Series and Energywise

Does a C1000-8P-E-2G-L support the Energywise feature?

The Cisco FAQ sheet says it does under the Power and POE section

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/switches/catalyst-1000-series-switches/nb-06-cat1k-ser-switch-faq-cte-en.html

Running 15.2(7)E1 and there is no energy wise command:

 C1000POE#show en?
 env

yes as per the document it supported, i see command syntax not available in that version it's bit odd

i do not have C1K to test -  what you see

(config)#energywise ?

also check this :

power efficient-ethernet auto

To enable Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) for an interface, use the power efficient-ethernet auto command in interface configuration mode. To disable EEE on an interface, use the no form of this command.

power efficient-ethernet auto

no power efficient-ethernet auto

EEE doesn't meet our requirement.  The requirement was to turn the in-line power off/on at specific times.

Worth asking the question to vendor who sold this (cisco Partnet) also raise TAC case about non availability of the feature (which mentioned in the document) - see if they can off or fix the issue for you.

Usually, EnergyWise is supported in switches only.

The  C1000-8P-E-2G-L is a Catalyst 1000 series 8 port POE switch.

The switch is running  a  C1000-UNIVERSALK9-M software, 15.2(7)E1

My apologies.  I mistook the Catalyst 1000 with the c1000 router.

You may need to raise a TAC Case with that.  The Catalyst 1000 IOS is based, loosely, on the 2960X firmware and the latter support EnergyWise.

NOTE:
Can you check in "interface" if EnergyWise option is available?

Not an option in interface mode;

C1000POE(config-if)#e?
exit

C1000POE(config-if)#
C1000POE(config-if)#power ?
efficient-ethernet Energy efficient ethernet Configuration
inline Inline power configuration

C1000POE(config-if)#power inline ?
auto Automatically detect and power inline devices
consumption Configure the inline device consumption
never Never apply inline power
police Police the power drawn on the port
port Configure Port Power Level
static High priority inline power interface

C1000POE(config-if)#

Hello,

I don't think Energywise is available at all on the Catalyst 1000 platform. There is no mention of it in the command reference linked below. So it is probably a mistake in the Q&A...
