Good morning ,  please could you support to us in the following question? 

2960 24 TC-L  one of its feature is 2 dual purpose uplink ports , it means one RJ-45 and one SFP  port , by default when we start the switch the SFP port goes to active keeping the RJ-45 port down , they are not redundant ports , the question is : when the SFP link goes down for any problem the RJ-45 should change  to active and according to the information it should  be done automatically , how long time does  take since the  time that SFP link goes down till the RJ-45 start to transmit the information .

Hi,

The ports must have the same speed and duplex. You also need to put the ports in a  Portchannle.

Can you post the config?

Hi Reza , SW 2960 24 TC-L , we would use dual purpose ports one of them is RJ45 and another SFP, the ethernetchannel is for getting  a fault tolerance if any port fail :

the next configuration is for one of the SW another switch would have the same configuration:

SW0(config)#int range gigabitethernet 0/25 -  26

SW0(config-if-range)#shut ctrlz 

SW0(config)#int gigabitethernet 0/25

SW0(config)#media type rj45 ctrlz

SW0(config)#int gigabitethernet 26

SW0(config)#media type sfp ctrlz

SW0(config)#int range gigabitethernet 0/25 -  26

SW0(config-if-range)# speed 100 

SW0(config-if-range)# duplex full

SW0(config-if-range)# channel-group-1 mode on , ctrlz

to verify the configuration

SW0#sh run , to see the configuration also

SW0#sh ip int breaf , to see the port channel

SW0#sh spanning-tree 

SW0#sh etherchannel detail  , to see the port channel detail

the VLAN would be the same by default configuration , it is VLAN1 we do not need another VLAN

Bonjour,  svp j'ai le même modèle du switch, il m'affiche des caractères bizarres lors de l'accès via la console, c'est quoi le problème svp. Aussi je n'arrive pas à le réinitialiser pour une nouvelle configuration,  comment procéder pour le réinitialiser ? Et merci par avance.
