Hi All,
I have two newly purchased (and very used) Cisco 3640 routers - each has a 2E2W Network Module and one WIC 2A/S. I can see both WIC 2A/Ss when I run a sho diag command, but I cannot confiure them as serial ports and do not see them in any of my other sho commands. Does anyone have any idea what the problem may be? Here's what I get from sho diag, and a few other things that may help:

Do the modules work in any other router? And do any other modules work in this slot of this router?

Wow - thanks for your very quick response. I only have the two modules and the two routers (plus a 1602 and two 2516s). I bought the routers about 2 weeks ago, and just received the cables to connect them yesterday, so I'm not sure - I haven't disconnected anything yet.
Shouldn't I see Serial Interfaces ready to be configured if they're there and properly installed?
Thanks again!

Hi, jim
WIC-2A/S cannot be installed on an NM-2E2W; it is not supported. Please see the following link:
http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/107/wic-2as.shtml#fourth
To solve your problem, you have two options: get two WIC-1Ts and keep the NM-2E2W, or keep the WIC-2A/S and get an NM-2FE2W

Hi SSLIN,
thank you very much for your research. I will contact the vendor and see what they can do for me.
I'm thinking that the better of your 2 options would be to get an NM-2FE2W (albeit more expensive, but simply . . . better).
IDH (It does/did help)
