Hi,
I'm upgrading a 3850 stack running IP services from 3.2.3SE to 3.3.3SE. When I upgrade using the standard universal image, will the IP Services features be retained or will I have to re-invoke the licensing. Additionally wll this command upgrade all the stack or are there additional switches needed:
switch#software install file tftp://172.16.1.1/cat3k_caa-universalk9.SPA.03.03.03.SE.150-1.EZ3.bin.
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Glenne

Hi,
Upgrading the IOS image does not change the license level. Once you upgrade to 3.3.3SE, the Service license should still be there.

Thank you for the prompt response. On upgrading the stack will the command posted earlier do it as there are examples intimating that you have to specify the destination as flash: and the number of switches to upgrade, e.g. switch 1-5.

If you are trying to upgrade a stack, use the .tar image.
See link below for step-by-step instructions:

I have used .tar image on may occasions on 2k's and 3k's but not sure there is such an image for the 3850's as I only see the .bin image on CCO.

Thanks for that link, I did actually read that document but crucially missed the line which said it was copying the software to the other switch in the stack.
