Cisco 3925-E + SFP modules

Hello guys :-)

I would like to add SFP 10G SR module on my Cisco 3925-E but I didn't find the good model number on the datasheet.

In fact, I'm not sure if this router has a compatible module.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/routers/3900-series-integrated-services-routers-isr/relevant-interfaces-and-modules.html#formfactor

Somebody could help me ?

Regards.

Hi,

The 3900 series routers don't support 10Gig.  Only 1Gig optics are supported.  See table-7 in this link:

Jeremytetart,

The ISR 3900 doesn't support any 10Gbps interfaces. Take a look at either the ISR 4000 or the ASR 1000 routers.

As the other posters have noted, 10g isn't supported on a 3925E.

As Cisco recommends the 3925E for up to 250 Mbps, it doesn't really have the performance capacity to support 10g.

Although Rich suggested the 4K series, for 10g you really would want to start with the ASR 1K series.

If you don't need true router features, you should be able to find L3 switches that will support 10g at less cost than a router that does.
