Hello
I Have a Cisco 4500 with redundant supervisor , when rebooting the active supervisor > become standby and vice versa .
I need to make the active supervisor always active even after rebooting , or disable the redundant supervisor ?
Any advice ?
Thanks

Hi,
Can you post the output of "sh redun"?
If you are rebooting the active sup, the backup sup becomes active. Now, if you reboot the active sup again the other sup becomes active. This is all the correct behavior. Now, If you reboot a chassis, the first sup should always be active and the second sup backup.

Current Processor Information :
------------------------------
Active Location = slot 3
Current Software state = ACTIVE
Uptime in current state = 32 weeks, 6 days, 17 hours, 20 minutes
-----------------------------
Standby Location = slot 4
Current Software state = STANDBY HOT
Uptime in current state = 32 weeks, 6 days, 17 hours, 16 minutes
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I know this behavior but I need to change it , as you see I need slot 3 supervisor always active even after rebooting !
How can I do that ?

Active Location = slot 3
Current Software state = ACTIVE
Slot 3 is active. You mean slot 4?

Slot 3 is Active , if we reboot now , slot 4 will be the active one and I do not want that to happen .
I need Slot 3 always active " as if it is only one RP in the switch " and slot 4 to be always disabled

Slot 3 is Active , if we reboot now , slot 4 will be the active one and I do not want that to happen .
Ok, than there is something wrong, because after a reboot, also 3 should always be active.
Can you post the full output of "sh red"
and
sh run
What is the sup model?
