I was wondering if anyone has ever had to replace a member of a VSS particulary with the Cisco 4500x series. I have seen the document on replacing a 720 sup module for the Cat 6500 series, but I am wondering if there is anything particular for the 4500x when replacing one of the actual switches.
Thanks!

Lance,
The procedure of changing the SUP in 4500 VSS is same as 6500 VSS.
You may like to go through the following:

This is a 4500x which does not have a supervisor module installed. I think what I need to do is the basic VSS configuration on the replacement switch:
Create the virtual switch domain
Assign lower priority to replacement switch
Configure VSL port channel and ports
Configure replacement swtich for virtual switch mode

Lance,
I missed its a 4500x, so obviously no sup... my bad.
Anyways the procedure still remains the same and the steps that you have mentioned above are the one you have to perform.
Thanks
Ankur
