I have 2 Cisco 4506 with Sup IV running HSRP. One being active, the other standby at all times.
After running for 2 months, Core switch 1 (Active) hangs yesterday at non-peak hour (8pm night) , unable to access even through console port
Worse, the connection of edge switches to Core switch 2 did not move from blocking to forwarding. We are running rstp. Finnally, we need to reset it to have access to the console port. Is this a hardware problem or a bug or what. Failover would have help me, unfounately it did not.
Can anybody please help me out.
