Hi guys
I was having one issue in core 6506 model. I removed the cf card and I format it then i upload a new fw after that i inset it but the rommon mode could not read bootdisk and bootflash as well...How can I solve it?

- Check this document : https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst6500/hardware/Config_Notes/6507_01.html , pay attention to supported Flash card(s) mentioned and installation procedure (format).

The doc talked about the slot0 cf but i removed the inside cf which comes with sup.

Actually i removed the internal cf 1g and i format it in my laptop then i copied a new ios bin file then i rensert it i side not from outside and gives me error bootdisk doesnt contain a valid magic number and before i was able to make dir bootflash: but now even bootflash is not there any more

Corrupt partition or the file is corrupt.
Console into the supervisor card and attempt to boot the IOS using the external CF. Post the entire boot-up process.

Can I use the interal cf to insert it external because I dont have anpther cf to use it in external?

And how will you be able to determine if the internal CF did not fail?

You are right! So what is the best and guarantee CF I can use it in external CF? I have Transcend 4G CF, can I use it?

Yes, as long as the CF is formatted to FAT16.

Oh, OK, and also the internal CF should be FAT16? because I format the internal CF with FAT32 maybe that's why the bootflash: not detect it!
