Cisco 861

Hello.

Maybe someone has already had experience in such case.

I have Cisco ISR 861-SEC/K9 with usual configuration – NAT, PAT, ACL, ZBFW, VPN Site-to-Site.

It’s nice one and cheap and very similar to Cisco 881 )

But when I have 10-12 Mbit/s in outgoing direction (to Internet without encryption – only routing, NAT, Firewall) and about 1-2Mbit/s in inbound I have problem. I even don’t have any VPN traffic at this time. I have 5-10-15% packets drop.

CPU utilization is about 45-50%.

Memory is enough.

May be this is normal when CPU load reaches 90-95% but not at 50% - it’s not normal.

Please, Can you suggest me something in this situation.

Thanks

One of the things that I usually look for when investigating issues about packet drop, especially if the problem increases as load increases, is to look for possible duplex mismatch. It could be with the connection to outside or could be with connections to inside.

The problem isn't in duplex.
