Cisco 877 unknown reboot reason

Hello

i have a running 877 without any issues since 2 years, but recently it start to reload accidentally without any reason and every time i lose part of the configuration (DHCP configuration) so i need to reconfigure it again.

i updated the ios from 124-15.T4 to 124-24.T8, now the configuration is stable even after reload, but the reload problem still exist. is there any solution?

you need to Look for crash log why this was rebooted. here is troubleshoot guide,

1. any power issue ?

2. any CPU high load ?

3. how long this device up before it was rebooted automatically.

4. what kind of Load it is handling ?

5. is this for  home purpose router or business ?

6. is there any other device rebooted at same time.

Sorry for my late replay.

1. any power issue ? NO other devices running well.

2. any CPU high load ? NO load at all since facing this issue.

3. how long this device up before it was rebooted automatically. max 2 hours.

4. what kind of Load it is handling ? i use it to access my network through VPN

5. is this for  home purpose router or business ? Home 

6. is there any other device rebooted at same time. No, its the only cisco device i own, other devices are running well.

Can you post show version - may be some bug, or suggest to capture the logs.

i tried to upgrade the ios to 15.1, i still have the same reboot issue.

 - I would advice to use standard upgrade and installation procedures from Cisco , especially when dealing with issues such as you are experiencing. Use show version as a sanity check as to query the current version running. Besides other reply also use a syslog-server as a log collector and also use an snmp-trap receiver for all traps. The intend is also to be able to watch for problems during normal behavior. Indeed  you can then also look for last-gasp information when a device reboots.
