Hello folks,

We are having media network and which always involves large file transfers. Currently our network consists of Cisco 4500-X series switch which is connected to devices with 10G and 1G ports (copper cables). We wanted to upgrade the network to add more devices. As per the devices which we are in use, not all the switches are qualified. We are thinking to use a qualified switch Cisco Nexus 93120TX. Question, as our network is designed in main and backup, usually we use two switches. By checking this Cisco Nexus 93120TX details, looks like it dont have a stack connection. So will it be possible we can use LACP between two switches and can they connected via 40Gbps multiple DAC cables ?. Respect your valuable advices.

Nexus 93120TX - these more of DC switches, you need to use vPC if you looking to desing high availability.

Cisco 4500-X series  - if you looking replace or looking to deploy Campus Lan - you need to consider Cat 9500 or Cat 9600 (high end) or Cat 9400 switches.

i would suggest to make a n small network diagram and in line with your goal - so community can suggest right product for you. or provide right direction of design.

So will it be possible we can use LACP between two switches and can they connected via 40Gbps multiple DAC cables ?  - yes as long as the device support this cables and ports.
