Hi Guys

I have a question regarding to cisco stack switches

in our company they asked me to replace D-Link DGS-1210-48  web interface switches to cisco stack c2960s switches and this is my first time to make full configuration in stack switches, so I have some inquires :

1-  we have trunk between these two D-Link switches(2 cables/ 2 ports 47,48), when we change them to stack, should I configure trunk between stack ??

2- the 2 switches configured as lacp protocol(ports 47,48), should I make lacp ??

3- we have different ports in the 2 D-Link switches, should I configure all ports for the 2 D-Link switches in master cisco switches ????

4- should I configure spanning tree ???

5- in D-Link I found access profile list is configured, so does it mean and how can we configure it in cisco  ??

If you are planning to use the stacking module you need not do anything related to port-channel or STP....i.e with stacking module you will combine to two switch to a single switch from configuration and management perspective

thanks for your replies

do to i have more than 10  vlans, so i should use trunk to allow different vlans

in this case i will configure only :

1- vlans

2- trunk in tagged vlan ports

3- access in  untagged vlan ports

4- combine all ports in 2 switches and configure it in the master new stack

and i will not configure :

1- port channel like D-Link

2- stp

and last question if i will combine all ports in one switch how do i do that ?

because for D-Link has 48 ports but cisco 2960s has only 24 ports, so can i use slave switch ports if all 24 are used (occupied)??????

or should i use only master ports for configuration and do the same config. ports  for slave  ???????????

Thanks in advance

Hello, as Nazimkha stated, typically you would use stack modules and stack cables. See the link below for how to set this up: https://www.slideshare.net/irisdan/how-to-stack-cisco-2960-s-switchesdetailed-examples-here
