I've never seen this kind of problem before and I dont know how to solve it.

Even if you stack the switches or try to boot it in single switch mode (not in Stack mode) this switch just ends up in this unknown SMON1 mode. Hm.

Is there someone who knows how to fix that?

seems like boot loader is corrupted. better get support from TAC. go to support.cisco.com and open a support case

Please rate this and mark as solution/answer, if this resolved your issue

RMA the switch.

The microcode is corrupt.

Hi Guys,

I have such problem.

May I modify envvar to point to modules.conf file in usbflash0: not as now flash:modules.conf?

And than to perform boot command which have arguments disk# offset.

May I use boot 0 for booting from usb0: where is right modules.conf file?

I must to perform initdram before?

KR,

Atanas

Why not just RMA the switch?

And please do not respond with "there is no maintenance contract" because all Catalyst 9k switches come with Limited Lifetime Hardware Warranty included in every purchase.  There is no need to have a "valid Service Contract" to RMA a Catalyst 9k switch.

Hi !
Ok, we have support, it is brand new, no more 1 month from delivery.
Thanks!

If the switch needs to be RMA, tell the TAC engineer to organize the replacement under DOA (Dead on Arrival) so that the replacement switch will be brand new -- Taken off the factory floor.

If the switch replacement is filed under RMA the replacement switch will be a refurbished (repaired) unit.
