Hi

we have just pucharced two C1000-48T-4G-L  and both of them have an abonormal fan behavior, an  annoying fan oscillation. FAN speed increases and decreases without a real reason

i have upgraded from IOS 15.2(7)E4 to OS 15.2(7)E6: no changes

upgraded CCP for Catalyst to 1.8.3: no changes

do you see the same behavior on yours? any suggestion?

thanks!

The switch is not meant for desktop installation.

Get a fanless switch, like 3560CX or MicroSwitch.

 24 °C

is this outout from switch, where are you going to install after setup done at desk.

Can you post complete output :

# show environment all
#
show environment last
try configure environment, see any logs

monitor environment temperature {history | low celsius | high celsius | notifies | syslog}

I would like a feedback from another owner of this switch model  (if any  ) to see if the FAN behaves like this "by design"

thanks

Hi, i have the same problem, I'm investigating to understand the problem, any updates?

I've just installed two of the same units and am experiencing the same issue. Did you resolve the issue with your units. The two units were replacements for two C2960x switches which were pretty silent except when first booting up.

hi, I'm investigating with technical support, they tell me about a possible hardware problem, I think of a failed stock

Thanks, I sent back my two Cisco Catalyst 1000 to the retailer few months ago
I would like to know what the support says to you
regards

they sent me a new switch but it has the same problem, I'm really angry about this, it's not acceptable by a company like Cisco, I'm seriously considering losing money and switching to Aruba.
