Cisco Catalyst 2960 series SI PoE 48 Switch

I have been trying to connect to this switch but to no avail. Tried using a console port but it's not compatible with my laptop. Can

 The right way to do this is using console cable. What you need to do is identify which console cable and USB adapter you have and find the correct windows driver for that. I am assuming you are using USB adpater and windows.

check the console cable brand name and check their company website you will find a compatible driver for Windows/mac.

download and install if you are using windows then the COM port you will find in the device manager.

then you can put the same COM port name on putty or others by selecting the console

try using direct COM port connectivity for console connection. USB converters have many driver and OS compatibility issues. if you are using converter and windows, try to update drivers of usb converter.
