on 20th Jan I was connecting a cisco 1E4000 switch to a ring network where this switch is the forth and switch from ASR 920 router and it is end switch and no any cisco device connected to is as downstream element .  all switches are connected back to back on trunk port and REP is configures over all trunk port.

where I configures switch port gi1/7 as segment edge trunk  port which is connected to its upstream switch and all configuration done. other end trunk port not configured as it not connect to any cisco element.

where switched discover its upstream switch and all vlan configured . but traffic fail to send to upstream switch.

Please suggest the problem area.

If another uplink port that not connected ant cisco element need to be configured , if then what conf ?

Please help me !!!!

Hi

If I understood properly, you put this switch in trunk mode on interface gi1/7, right? Can you share the command:

show run gi1/7 on the IE-4000 and the equivament port on the upstream switch?

Also, when you say "traffic fail to send to upstream switch", which kind of test are you performing? Which evidence do you have on failing tests?

Ring network - do you have diagram?

where switched discover its upstream switch and all vlan configured . but traffic fail to send to upstream switch.

we need to look at the config or some kind of information what is configured ?

Please suggest the problem area.

There is no suggestion here, until we see your network diagram and config, if not we can only assume (which i think not correct way to suggest here)
