When I boot up my ISR4331/KP router I get the below Invalid input error messages
cisco ISR4331/K9 (1RU) processor with 1648789K/6147K bytes of memory.
Processor board ID FLM2147W0SR
3 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces
32768K bytes of non-volatile configuration memory.
4194304K bytes of physical memory.
3125247K bytes of flash memory at bootflash:.
interface Vlan1

shutdown
% Incomplete command.
SETUP: new interface Vlan1 placed in "shutdown" state
I'm sure I can ignore the message and it won't interfere with the operation of the router but inquiring minds have to know.
The odd part is if I run the command "sh int" on the router I see a Vlan interface

I think you may be hitting a bug. No vlan should be present on this platform. I would open a ticket with Cisco and have them take a look at it. They probably recommend an IOS upgrade.

If the router is brand new, you get one-year warranty and support by default. So, you should be able to open a ticket.

I finally reached someone at the support desk that would allow me to open a case without just sending me a router. Thank you for your help.

I was able to finally get a ticket open with Cisco and was told I need to install NIM-ES2-8-P card to get rid of the VLan interface errors.
Thanks

The router does not seem to be aware that it should interact / have Switching capabilities ... needs SVI to be enabled.
I do this on my routers in this manner ... maybe this will guide you in the right direction ... although this post is quite old I am sure it was already figured out
