i have a cisco AIR-LAP1262N-A-K9 that i am trying to convert to Autonomous.
i do not have the passwords,
i have done the factory defaults but the default user name and password do not work.
boot into setup mode by holding down the mode button for 30 seconds, but when i try to send the firmware file it times out.
any suggestions ?

With the AP connected to the network boot into ROMMON; hold mode button for 25 sec I believe. Once in ROMMON issue the following commands to format the flash and install the autonomous firmware from TFTP.
set IP_ADDR 10.19.9.35 <---IP address on the network
set NETMASK 255.255.255.224 <---net mask of above IP
set DEFAULT_ROUTER 10.19.9.33 <---default gateway for network
tftp_init
ether_init
flash_init
format flash:
tar -xtract tftp://tftpserverIP/ap3g1-k9w7-tar.153-3.JAB.tar flash:
set BOOT flash:/ap3g1-k9w7-tar.153-3.JAB/ap3g1-k9w7-xx.153-3.JAB

thanks for that info.
everything worked expect the last command.
but loaded anyway.
another problem i have ran into is that the tftpd64 software only runs one time.
i reboot the computer it works fine the first time, loads firmware into ap, but after the first time,
when i try to do another ap it times out, and i have to run the tftpd64 software as a administrator.
i get this same problem on 3 different computers.
any ideas ?

Sorry, can't help you with tftpd64, I run the Solarwinds TFTP server.
Cheers,
Sam
