Hi,
Basically we need to upgrade core 6500 series from Nexus7009 chassis.
Nexus series run on nxos and after up gradation I have 3750 series at my access layer which runs ios.. So is there any comparability issue..

Hi Amey
from the perspective of physical interconnection - no incompatibilities.
from the perspective of functionality - both IOS switches and NX-OS switches comply with network standarts, RFC's etc.. so will work perfectly together and ill work even with 3rd party devices which also follow thesandarts.
From the configuration perspectiv wolud sugges you to read following links:
http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/Catalyst_to_Nexus_Migration
http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/Cisco_NX-OS/IOS_Software_Default_Configuration_Differences
As some default states and config commands may differ from IOS.

Thanks Alex,
I will surely look your pasted links from configuration perspective.
that will be appreciated, if you have any link which commits Planning( which we need to be done before Migration) or plan of action during migration from Cat6500 to nexus 7009.
Looking forward to see your reply.

Hi
Why relplace The 6500 ? Chassis and The T2 Engine will be supported at least 5 years.
T2 brings a Lot of Performance.
With nx-os you will lose some Features no Service Modules.
If you are Not Planing for fcoe 6500 are still valid.

Thanks Patrick for your valuable views
But this time we look for FCOE, because we are migrating our SAN on to it.
According to you, no service module is supported in nexus 7k ??

Amey
There are service modules for Nexus 7000 - ACE for example :
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/modules/ps2706/solution_overview_c22-643591.html
But you need to reach your account team to get more info about which other services modules will be available on Nexus platform.
Also you can itegrate cat6k with N7k and use service modules on cat6k.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/solutions/Enterprise/Data_Center/nx_7000_dc.html
But again you need to reach your Cisco Account team and get advices from them to understand which better suits your network needs.
