Hi,
I have a Cisco Nexus N5K-C56128P on a CLI and am trying to configure it's IP address. I have a similar unit which has changed address successfully, but this one generates an error message.
I've double-checked cable assignment to the correct sockets, so I think there's something else amiss.
Posted below is an output, TiA.
switch(boot)# configure terminal
switch(boot) (config)# interface mgmt0
switch(boot) (conf-if)# ip address 172.18.50.23 255.255.255.0
Unable to get mgmt interface state. err 19

switch(boot)#
Your switch in boot mode - fix that as below suggested steps :

Hello,
I've established connection with an identical unit and have changed the ip successfully from the same switch (boot)# prompt.

Same unit, same boot mode, both reading "switch (boot)#" using different bootloader and bootfile versions though, I'm currently seeing if the uncooperative unit will work via USB transfer.

I never tried that boot mode, bit boot mode is boot mode, you need to boo the device with the right image.
