Anyone can tell me the upgrade path from 2.4.0.94 to image_tesla250_hybrid_2.5.8.15_release_cisco_signed.bin?
Wondering if it will go well just copying the 2.5.8.15 file to the switch and doing a Swap Image will just work or if there is an interim version I have to go to first.
thanks

Hello,
I checked the release notes (linked below), nothing in there except that the revocation certificates are removed during the upgrade.
Besides, there is no interim firmware version anyway. So you should be fine just installing release 2.5.8.15.

take the configuration backup out of the box and straight upgrade to next version.

In other words backup the config and have it on your laptop just in case. Then just do the swap image process, correct?
I read some posts in other places that talk about the switch losing its IP config and you can't get to it without console. That's what I'm concerned with; it blowing up on me. Done a lot of cisco switch upgrades but never and GS series; so called "smart switch".

- Make sure to save the configuration on the device too , before upgrading.

yes, we do some users experienced that issue, that is the reason suggest offloading the config to the laptop in case restore is required as the backup plan you can restore easily.
smart port config you can globally can be disabled.

you know with all the uncertainty with what may happen if I attempt an upgrade (realize I'm remote from the site where the switches are) I'm wondering if I should tell my client don't bother. Is 2.4 EOL or anything? Are there any other reasons to upgrade at this time?
