Guys,
Need a small deocument which is easy to understand on the name convention on cisco switches.
I have many spare switches in my storage which can be used if one of the production switches goes down.
Now: I am trying to get understanding what platform and naming convention cisco uses so i can use my switches in stores and replace it withe a bad production switch.

Hi,
There is no standard naming convention. You can make up your own naming convention.
for example if you switch is 3750 and is located in building 10 on the 8 floor closet 25, you cal call it
C-3750-buld10-fl8-rom25
In addition, you can also add rack number and the RU where the switch is installed.
C-3750-buld10-fl8-rom25-ra1-un26
