Cisco Switch Port Configuration For Non Cisco Wireless Access Point

Hello,

We use Xirrus wireless access points at all of our locations. Some connect to older 3750G switches and some connect to newer 3850 switches. I am curious about best practice switch port configuration for these non-Cisco access points.

Besides configuring the connected switch ports as trunks (to support multiple SSIDs on multiple VLANs), what other specific commands should be used to optimize the traffic flow to/from these access points?

Any commands specifically applicable to the 3750 switches? Any commands specifically applicable to the 3850 switches? Any commands specifically applicable to both?

Any advice/input/recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
