Hi there
My switch is Catalyst 6509. I have 2 ADSL modem-routers that has 1M download speed each. I would like to "combine" both download speed so that I get 2M.
Each ADSL modem-router connects to end PC using LAN cable. Is it possible to connect two LAN cables from the two modemrouters to the switch, and then configure the switch to "combine" the two LAN cables as one (consolidate their speed)? We can then connect one "output" cable to the endstation so that that particular endstation can have 2M download speed.
Is this something to do with load balancing? I need some guidance as to how this can be done.
Thanks a lot! :)

This is not a supported configuration for etherchannel (combining FE or GigE interface to create a bigger pipe) . Etherchannel must terminate on a single device and that device must also support channeling. I am not 100% certain that multi-link can do this either.

Maybe you should have a look at the HSRP.

Hello,
in addition to the other posts, there are routers available with multiple WAN ports, which let you achieve load balancing/sharing, one of them being the Draytek Vigor 300. If you are interested, have a look at this link:

I think it's all 'bout the fuction that combine the two DSL line as one serial line.
you could check the other way with new device.
It' might be easy way if you want to change router to NLB(*network load balancer)
