compatibility

i was wondering if a switch interface card (HWIC-D-9ESW) from a cisco 2811 router is compatible with a cisco 2911 router?

yes it should be looking at the supported modules doc but states its a POE one on 29 series , maybe a newer version card

HWIC-D-9ESW is supported in the 2911 (as long as the router is loaded with the correct firmware).

i see two reasons when i check that alert i dont think its going to stop anything working , just to be sure what version of IOS are you running ?

1 non impacting bug
2 its a hwic in an ehwic slot

Symptom:
Below error messages seen on the router

*Jan 31 23:15:05.523: Could not set disable/enable learning on port(0)
*Jan 31 23:15:05.523: Could not set disable/enable learning on port(1)
*Jan 31 23:15:05.523: Could not set disable/enable learning on port(2)
*Jan 31 23:15:05.523: Could not set disable/enable learning on port(3)

No impact on router operation/functioning

Conditions:
Problem occurs due to hardware and is not dependent on router configuration

Workaround:
None

Thats fine there is a minimum version for the hardware to accept it but your past it at 15.2 so your good to go

• Minimum Cisco IOS Software Release 15.0(1)M for Cisco 1900 Series, Cisco 2900 Series and
Cisco 3900 Series routers: IP Base License of the Universal image.

i have configured the interface but i seem to get this message *Jun 28 09:21:18.111: Could not set disable/enable learning on port(0)

*Jun 28 09:21:18.111: Could not set disable/enable learning on port(3)

*Jun 28 09:21:18.111: Could not set disable/enable learning on port(6)
