I have 2 brand new 3750x switches that I need to configure in a stack. When I try to configure them as a stack the stack ports show that they are down. Any suggestions on how to get past this? Also are there any step by step guides out there that would outline how to go from brand new hardware to a workinf stack of switches?
Thank you in advance.

One more thing
When you are done stacking your switches, make sure to issue this command.
C3750-E#sh switch stack-ring speed
Stack Ring Speed : 32G
Stack Ring Configuration: Full
Stack Ring Protocol : StackWisePlus
C3750-E#

Hi Michael,
The Cisco the Cisco StackWise and StackWise Plus solutions are flexible enough to allow you to:
Stack any Cisco Catalyst 3000 switch in the same stack (hardware mixed stack)
Stack any Cisco IOS Software feature set in the same stack (software mixed stack)
One exception is the new LAN Base models being introduced with the Catalyst 3750-X and 3560-X Series, which can stack only with other LAN Base models.

Mike,
Follow this link to set up your switches in a stack.
Before stacking:
Make sure you have they same exact IOS in both switches.
Make sure you have the same license for each switch
Make sure to prevision each switch
Make sure you give your stack master a priority between 1 and 15 with 15 being the highest
