Connect Computers across VLANs and subnets

Hello, please view picture to see my Network Layout

Staging Diagram.png

I am planning on replacing our current Router/Switch with the network gear in the screenshot above, as well as segmenting the various departments into their own VLANs/subnets.

One PC on VLAN 101 will need access to a PC on VLAN 102

Also, there is a Network Printer on VLAN 103 (not shown) that all PCs will need access to.

Right now I am in the planning/testing stage as outlined in the screenshot.

The switch is setup using Port Based VLAN

I can't figure out how to communicate across VLANs;

  • PC 1 communicates with PC 2 with no issues
  • PC 1 can not communicate with PC 3 (the port PC 1 is connected to has access to VLAN 101 and 102 as does PC 3)
  • Laptop can not communicate with PC 1(192.168.101.100), but it can ping 192.168.101.1 (Laptop Port has access to all VLANs)

My question is how do I communicate/route across VLANs?

  You would have to be able to trunk between the router and your switch.  Not knowing the capability of these lower end switches  don't know if thats possible.  Your router would also have to have the capability of applying acl's on each vlan to restrict traffic like you want .
