connect netgear wireless AP to Cisco 2960 switch

I need help please on this. I got a wireless AP (netgear) that need connected up to one of our cisco (2960) switch.
I can ping it only for 3 seconds and then drop. DCHP is turned off on AP. However when I connected to the other switch in our company it works. Sorry but our network admin left a week ago and I don't know alot about this. Just wondering what setting on the switch that I need changing.

When it stops responding, is the interface on the switch still active where it is connected?
