Hi,
Could any one help me find out the type of cable should I used ( cross-ver or straight thru) to connect ethernet ports between cisco 6509 and Cisco 4507.

Hi,
you have to use a cross over cabel between two switches.

Yeah you have to use a crossover cable.Straight through cables are to connect workstation to hub,switch or router.

Depends on how new your equipment is , the newer 6500 cards support auto-mdix and you can use either , otherwise it will be a Xover between switches .

You need to connect two switches with Crossover cable. Straight thu cable is used for connection with PC, PC to switch.
