Hello,
i have a cable modem, connected to my pc, but i just bought a Cisco work group switch, how can i connect my printer and an extra pc to the internet through the switch with out a Router?

Hi Tam,
if your cable modem has got the feature of port forwarding, s ofcourse you can route your internet request to your private ip address with different port numbers.

I believe unless your switch can provide those layer 3 switching (or routing) w/ NAT/PAT functions. Otherwise, your cable modem connection cannot be shared by other devices.
However, you can check will your cablem modem be acted as a router.
Or you can configure one of your PC as a router then the other PC access Internet via the router-role PC. It is the modification of the PC only and the LAN switch will be the conceration role only.
