I have a second-hand Catalyst 3550 which I am having trouble connecting to with a console cable. Please bear with me, I'm very new to this. I know similar things have come up before but I haven't had any joy.
I'm using PuTTY on a Windows 10 laptop with a USB-Serial cable connected to a Cisco console cable at 9600 baud. This works on another two switches and two routers. On the 3550 it is very unresponsive when trying to type. It seems that it receives commands but doesn't display most characters. If I hold the keys down they show up, but this seems to duplicate the letter.

See above various attempts at set, unset BAUD, flash_init. As far as I can see it seems to boot OK, but is similarly unresponsive and confused in output. I've tried following configuration reset steps but it appears to freeze; at least it stops updating anything on the console. I saw somewhere mention of jumpers, but I can't find anything more than this.No chance of a hardware reset, is there? If you're able to offer any advice please don't skip any steps. I haven't done this before and if you don't mention something then I won't know to do it. I have only been able to connect by console, I don't know how the telnet works.
