copied a new IOS into a 3750 SW but it's not booting to it

I copied a new IOS into a 3750 SW reloaded/rebooted the SW but now it's not booting to the new image.

I tried to delete the old but it says that its a directory and therefore will not delete it.

I've attached a "sh flas" and a "sh ver" for reference.

Any Thoughts?

Thanks

You'll have to tell the switch to boot the correct IOS-

boot system flash flash:c3750-ipbasek9-mz.122-40.SE.bin

You can remove the old IOS with:

del /for /rec flash:/c3750-i9-mz.121-19.EA1c

Hope it helps.

Thanks for all of the advice. both cmds worked like a champ!

i thought there was a cmd to force the SW to boot up to a particular image.

Thanks, Gary.

Hello Gary,

you need a

config t

boot system flash:newfilename

then you need to save the configuration

you can check the boot variables with

show boot

Hope to help

Hi,

1. Solution: delete the old image (directory) recursively:

switch# delete /force /recursive flash:xxx-name of the old image

2. Solution: change the boot parameter and leave the old image on the switch:

switch# boot system flash:xxx-name of the new image

Both should work.
