Copy 6509 ios image from flash card to sup-bootflash via tftp

I have one 6509 which has no ios image in it. I have saved the ios image in my desktop.

Is it possible to copy the ios image into sup-bootflash or flash card via tftp?

Hi

yes it is , depending on  your switch and sup you should have options like this below

setup an ip on a module on the switch and connect it to your laptop  give your laptop same range ip and then tftp

#copy tftp ?

#### quicker way is just get a card reader , connect it to your laptop , and copy the ios onto the card and then insert it into disk0 or 1 whatever is there on the sup

Thank you for you reply, however, I think I was not clear in explaining the question.

Since there is no IOS image, it boots to ROMMON state. Can I still do a copy via TFTP?

sorry my fault should of read that right, what sup have you got in the 6500

this is the doc to do it on a 6500 running a sup720 and sup 32 , there is another one for the sup2t , theres a bit in it when its stuck in rommon its not tftp

yes its not an easy process on the 6500s but glad you got it resolved
