CPU and Memory High Usage

Ran into this problem with a stack of 2 3850 switches.

*%OSAPI-4-CPU_OVERLOAD:Switch 2 R0/0: wcm: Warning! Task 6585 (wcm) is taking 143% (0% user 143%system)of the cpu!.

It caused switch 1 to drop from the stack and anything connected to it lost network communication.  Switch 1 came back but I dont have any scheduled tasks running on the switch, so I'm not sure what's cuasing this.  Any help is appreciated.

Most likely an IOS bug.  You should open a ticket with TAC and send them the info.  Most of the time they will recommend an upgrade.

What version is the stack running on?

It's version 16.3.1.  We opened a ticket with our MSP on it and sent them a 'show tech' output.

Roll back to 3.6.X. IOS-XE for switches is notorious for memory leak across the entire IOS range. 3.6.X, for Reza, or 3.7.X is least affected by this.

I can't speak for the 3.6.x train, but from my experience, the 3.7.x train is garbage. We had constant bugs with 3.7.1 and 3.7.3, until we moved to Denali 16.3.5b.
