create interface and non vpc vlan for muliticast issue

we were advised that a new application will need multicast to work.  the Server in on a vpc vlan 2012 on our 9508-9396-2200

network.

I created a separate trunk between the 9508s for this project and created vlan 36 to be allowed on this trunk and removed vlan 36 from the peer link.  For what ever reason, I have issues getting network connectivity on vlan 36 unless it is on the peer link.

now I am trying to have vlan 36 on all the same switches that all the other vpc vlans are on.  Do I need a separate switch?

any suggestions or solutions?

Hi,

If the server is in VLAN 2012 and part of the PC peer-link, just do the same for VLAN 36. This way all VLANs will be part of vPC peer-link and there is no need for a separate trunk port just for VLAN 36.

when i make it part of the Peer link it does work, but i can not get the multicast to work.  i was under the impression that i need to create a non vpc vlan to carry the multicast.
