DC interconnect using L3

Any comments appreciated:

I have 2 DCs with no L2 extension requirements and available dark fibre.(2 connections on each side)

My intention is to link them using L3 etherchannel. Is that a robust solution?

I just want to add that the etherchannel is actually a MEC as both sides are VSS enabled.

Can you clarify

You have a pair of VSS in each location and they are L-2 interconnected?

There is only one set of vss in DC1 right now. We adding a new site dc2 with another set of vss. there is lo L2 extension requirements as dc1 will be hosting 90% of the apps. Without any performance impact, I was thinking of using L3 MEC over the existing dark fibre.

I am not sure if I understand.  You say, the requirements is to have L-2 extension between the 2 sites, but you want to change it to L-3?
