DELL EMC unity 300 with Cisco Nexus 9k switch unable to ping

Hi,

we have configured nexus 9k switch and connect directly with DELL EMC unity 300,  we are unable to ping connectivity, also configuration below mentioned.

vlan 101

interface vlan 101

ip address 10.0.0.1 255.0.0.0

no shut

interface ethernet 1/1

switchport mode access

switchport access vlan 101

no shut

 

EMC-DELL

vlan 101

interface vlan 101

ip address 10.0.0.2 255.0.0.0

no shut

Can the EMC ping other hosts on the same subnet : YES

When we configure the layer ip on nexus switch. now we can able to ping.

when we configure layer-2 port with vlan on nexus now interface is up. but can not pinging..
