DHCP

Hi ,

 

What are all the possible reason that client not getting ip address from DHCP server.

Ans needed for interview purpose.

Many reasons .

 

1. device not connected network

2. device not configured or plugged in to correct port.,

3. Device connected port may be admin down.

4. Device connected port up but wrong VLAN

5. VLAN configured - but there is no IP helper address in Interface vlan

6. device not able to reach DHCP server ( routing issue)

 

Like so on list build based on the network. ( may be you can take single question and fill all your interview time).
