Hi all,

refer to my post before about diagnostic test fail : https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2223793

and TAC already confirm bug for the ios ver 12.2(55)SE2 and suggest the new ios is 12.2(58)SE2

experiment 1 : i try upgrade ios in first device WS-C2960S-48FPS-L SN : XXXXXXX

result : for first time running test diagnostic, the result is failed in test "TestPortAsicLoopback"

and the second test running diagnostic, the result is success.

experiment 2 : i try upgrade ios in second device WS-C2960S-48FPS-L SN : YYYYYYY

result : for first time running test diagnostic, the result is failed in test "TestPortAsicLoopback"

and the second test running diagnostic, the result is failed too.

last try, i am trying to shutdown the switch/power off, and power on again, and running test diagnostic and the result is success.

my concern is when i upgrade our customer switch and they see the test is failed again and they will ask why the problem come again in the new IOS suggest by TAC.

so, someone can give advice is a bug again in this ios or not?

the new ios : c2960s-universalk9-mz.122-58.SE2.bin

Best Regards,

Budi

Hello

Why do you just go ahead and get it rma'ed...

Regards.

Wilson B.

The bug  <http://cdets.cisco.com/apps/dumpcr?&content=summary&format=html&identifier=CSCtl08303> CSCtl08303 documentation said it was not seen on single 2960s and two 2960s stack. So, if this stand alone switch is experiencing the failure, we need to reboot the switch and if the issue persist we could consider to replace it.
