Nexus is DC-grade switches.
Catalyst is Enterprise-grade router, switches, WLC and APs
Business Switches are the "economy" grade. Least amount of features.

That can vary, i.e. overlap, between different series. For example, a "high end" Catalyst might offer more capacity (which is really what this is about when discussing "performance", as in, wire speed, or line rate, is what all can generally accomplish, just usually a question of how many ports they can run, at that rate, concurrently) than a Nexus.
Generally, Nexus has "more" than a Catalyst, which has more than a SMB switch. I think (?) the Meraki series falls into the Enterprise level.

Depends on the application.
Nexus and Catalyst are "top tier" depending on how it is applied in the network.
Nexus is "the" switch to use in DC environment. Catalyst is the recommended method for Enterprise network.
SMB is someone just wants the "Cisco" logo for a network equipment but with a budget of a Netgear/D-Link.
