Anyone knows why the following commands work on Cat3650 switches but not on Cat9500 siwtches even though both are running the same version (16.12.4)

95-61-03351-AC01-ST0(config-if)# authentication control-direction in
%Command deprecated ( authentication control-direction in) - use access-session instead

95-61-03351-AC01-ST0(config-if)#$ server dead action authorize vlan 42
Command deprecated ( authentication event server dead action authorize vlan 42) - use cpl config

95-61-03351-AC01-ST0(config-if)#$ no-response action authorize vlan 42
Command deprecated ( authentication event no-response action authorize vlan 42) - use cpl config

95-61-03351-AC01-ST0(config-if)#$tion event server alive action reinitialize
Command deprecated ( authentication event server alive action reinitialize) - use cpl config

95-61-03351-AC01-ST0(config-if)# authentication host-mode multi-domain
%Command deprecated ( authentication host-mode multi-domain) - use access-session instead

95-61-03351-AC01-ST0(config-if)# authentication order dot1x mab
Command deprecated ( authentication order dot1x mab) - use cpl config

95-61-03351-AC01-ST0(config-if)# authentication priority dot1x mab
Command deprecated ( authentication priority dot1x mab) - use cpl config

95-61-03351-AC01-ST0(config-if)# authentication port-control auto

%Command deprecated ( authentication port-control auto) - use access-session instead

I know there is a new way to configure dot1.x through CPL on ISE but the main issue here is why do the commands work on one platform and not the other

Hi

9500 is a new platform while 3650 is almost end of life.  Despite  the same IOS version I dont belive they run the same code. When you download the IOS from cisco site, you do this in different location, right? They are not exactly the same.

At least cisco is informing you:  This command  has changed and the command now is this"
