Differences Between Cisco S-Class and Non-S-Class Optics

Hi ,

if one switch is cisco and the other switch is non-cisco, can I use S-Class sfp ? 

is there any obligation to be cisco for both switch?

Hi

it depends on whether the platform supports it and what exact type of sfp it is  , this is what Cisco supports per platform just search your model , if its not on the list it still may work but it would be unsupported hardware so if something goes wrong with it TAC wont look at it or support it
