In a project, I need to document partnumbers and serials for all field replaceable components, such as fans and psu's. I can find the partnumbers for the fans and psu's from show inventory, as well as the psu serials. However, the fans display the serial as N/A.
On the physical fan removal handle there is a number printed, but this appears to be the same number across all the fans. I also removed it, the fan has some tiny tiny numbers and I need new glasses but they also seem to be identical when comparing two fans.
Do fans even have serials?

Hi Charles,
Those are probably the part number since it is highly unlikely that two modules will have the same Serial Number. Have you tried checking the show version, and show module outputs to verify further?

This is the output from show inventory. I have obfuscated the serials for the switch and PSUs slightly

It does appear the fans do not have a serial number.
